Gaylene B Goff

Born in Ogden Utah

 May 12, 1945

Died September 22, 2024

Gaylene married the love of her life, Don J Goff, on April 20, 1974. When he asked her to marry him, she promptly said no. He said, “You don’t have a choice my mother already made a cake and found a preacher.” Dad knew he wanted this beautiful lady and her 5 children to be a part of his life. So, they added these 5 children to the two beautiful children he had from a previous marriage, added a final child Little Julie the spoiled one of the bunch, and their story began.

Mom worked for the local Kmart for many years, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed camping, especially if singing around the campfire was involved. She loved music and was a very good dancer. Elvis Presley was the true king in her world, but she loved all the old country and western tunes as well. However, Elvis couldn’t hold a candle to the Duke (John Wayne).

They spent most weekends at the Eagles Family Meadow, enjoying friends and family. Their trailer was located right next to the river, surrounded by trees. She played with the humming birds and squirrels that always seems to wander her way. She was a true animal lover, always wanted to adopt any cute little dog, cat, bird, chicken or duck, any little creature that came along. Her most beloved animals of all were the parrot named Duke, her little dog Suzie, and the hairy, but very protective, Blue-healer cross named Newbo. She took many vacations to Oregan, but nothing could top her favorite place, Wendover. Every year was a tradition on her birthday or dad’s birthday to spend it in Wendover, whenever they could. She bowled for many years and was a strong supporter of Jo’lee Lane which later became Fitzgerald’s and then Sparetime. She helped the young kids learning to bowl as well as being the night time bartender in the lounge.

She truly loved everyone that came around from the snotty nose youngster to the scruffy teenagers.  Growing up, everyone in the neighborhood called her mom.

She was proceeded in death by her parents

William Baxter, Mary Finis Baxter, Wayve Baxter

Her siblings Norma, Allene, Bill, and Joan.

Her sister Karol is her remaining sibling and lives in Cedar City

Her children are-Ronna Hess, Micheal Goff and Karen, Vaughn Goff and Iolene,

Cammie Labiado and Rusty, Barbra Goff and Troy, Bruce Goff and Kimmie, Brent Goff, Julie Medina and Josh.

She has 22 grandkids, 39 great grandkids and 5 great-great grandkids.

Through her 79 years of life, she acquired many wonderful friends and cherished every one of them.

We asked Dad if he wished to add something and he said,

(Thank you for giving me this wonderful family), as we all stood around him in a small circle and silently cried with him. (They were married for 50 years).

Mom, we will look at the setting sun and see your smile in each and every ray of light.

  Love you always,

Your Family
