Gene Clair Hermanson
February 26. 1937-January 11, 2022
Gene Clair Hermanson passed away peacefully on January 11, 2022 at Davis Hospital. He was born to Herman and Myrtle Hermanson on February 26, 1937 in Edgerton, Wisconsin.
He grew up on the family farm until enlisting into the army and then switching over to the Air Force. He served as military police all over the world, including active duty in Vietnam. His service took him to Libya, South Africa, Greece, Japan, Thailand, UK and all over the U.S. where he finally found the love of his life, Lucia Fuentes, in Utah. They soon married on March 25, 1980 in Layton, Utah. Together they had a daughter Angelina and with their union he gained 8 amazing stepchildren. His dream of having a big family was complete.
He retired from security after 20 years of service. He then worked in shipping and receiving for over 15 years at Hill Air Force Base before retiring. Gene then enjoyed various jobs at Wal-Mart and Lifetime Products before fully retiring.
Gene enjoyed fishing along the Weber River, telling his grandkids stories, making others laugh and talking with everyone he met.
Gene is survived by his wife, Lucia Hermanson, Layton, his daughter Angelina Hermanson, Clearfield, his 5 stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, David Hermanson, Stoughton W1.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, 2 siblings, 2 stepchildren and 1 grandson.
Gene will be dearly missed by his family and all that he encountered in his life. His family wishes to thank the staff at Davis Hospital for all the care and kindness until the end.
Memorial services will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Friends my visit family Friday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
