Geneal Meldrum Morrey

Geneal Meldrum Morrey our loving, “tell it like it is” mother, grandmother, and friend passed from this life and into her sweetheart’s arms on March 2, 2019. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Geneal was born on August 22, 1927 in Provo, Utah to Spencer Huie Meldrum and Clara Smith. She was the third child of six.
She met her sweetheart, Carl Francis Morrey, when he dated her two sisters. They later married on May 4, 1946 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 17, 1955. They had six beautiful daughters who they loved so much.
Geneal loved to crochet and quilt and would donate her time quilting every Thursday at the senior center. She loved The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had multiple church callings and always said that her favorite calling was reading to the primary kids once a month.
Geneal is survived by her daughters, Carla Johnson, Valarie (Chris) Seaman, Bonnie (Lee) Thompson, Kim (Randy) Fisher, and Jana (Richard) Butler; d her 20 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Meldrum
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Morrey; daughter, Denise Morrey; grandson, Spencer Speirs; great-granddaughter, Mya May Stuart; great-grandson, Brantly Max Taylor; her parents, Clara Smith and Spencer Meldrum; three brothers, Carl, Merlin, and Willis; and two sisters, Geraldine and Cathrine.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Suncrest 3rd Ward Chapel, 90 North 600 West, Orem, UT. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
