Geneva A. Pearson
Geneva Ashby Pearson, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Sunrise Park Assisted Living in Lewiston, Utah. She was born on October 14, 1921 in Altonah, Utah and is the daughter of John Latham and Mabel Lurina Pickup Ashby and was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She graduated from Uintah High School and later attended LDS Business College.
She married Earl Thomas Pearson on August 3, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Earl and Geneva were able to spend 55 wonderful years together. Earl passed away on April 8, 1998.
Geneva was a long time resident of Uintah, Utah, lived the last 8 years in Cache Valley and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served with Earl in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission and served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans and made them for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Geneva is survived by her children, Don (Marilyn) Pearson, Dennis (Christine) Pearson, Dale (Cathy) Pearson, Ellen (Leon) Milgrom, Laraine Strobelt, Nadine (Kevin) Smith, and Marilyn (Jim) Oveson, 28 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, brother Clarin (Margene) Ashby, and sister Melva (Chris) Sorenson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and one great-grandchild, and by 5 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
