Genevieve Martinez Sisneros

Gen Sisneros, 84, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born on July 22, 1934 in Madrid, New Mexico, the daughter of Genaro Martinez and Antonia Dominguez.
She grew up in Dragerton, Utah, married Jose C. Sisneros on June 29, 1954, moved to Ogden, they were later married through the Catholic Church.
Together they raised their three children. She worked very hard at home, then she worked at St. Benedicts Hospital in the dietary dept., Ogden City Lunch Program and retired as Housekeeping Supervisor for Crestwood Care Center.
Her home was the house of family, fun, love, and the most amazing food ever!! She had a special bond with her family and really loved her grand puppies! She enjoyed playing Rummy and going to Wendover. She has many nieces and nephews that she also loved as her own.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She served on the Women’s Guild for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the American GI Forum.
Gen is survived by her children: Zachary Sisneros, Valerie (Mike) Gallegos, Veneta (Doug) Stokes; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Mary; parents; and five siblings.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S 3900 W, West Haven. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Inurnment, Ogden City Cemetery. We invite you to join us for a luncheon at St. Mary’s after the burial. Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
