Geniel C. Wheelwright
OGDEN a" Geniel Rae Cullimore Wheelwright passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 29, 2007, surrounded by family and friends.
She was born January 11, 1927 in Lindon, Utah, the second child of Vern Alfred and Cumorah Agnes Smith Cullimore. She attended school in Pleasant Grove and graduated with honors from Pleasant Grove High School in 1945. She attended Brigham Young University where she met her future husband, Worth Pearse Wheelwright, from Ogden, Utah. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on October 15, 1947.
Geniel was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ogden Waterfall Canyon (formerly 41st) Ward, where she served in various callings.
She loved people and enjoyed participating in numerous civic, cultural and social organizations including Daughters of Utah Pioneers, K-Anns (Kiwanis Ladies Club), Junior Children''s Hour Club, Sewing Club, Creative Writing Club and the Variannes and Debonairs dance clubs. She and Worth were also members of a close-knit group of friends that met together monthly for more than 50 years.
Geniel''s favorite hobby was photography and for most of her life, she was rarely seen without a camera in hand. Her home is filled with scrapbooks and photographs taken over many years. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren perform and seldom missed a recital, play or other performance.
She is survived by her children, Pamela (Lee) Crittenden, North Ogden, UT; Kevin (Marilyn) Wheelwright, San Ramon, CA; Ronald (Becky) Wheelwright, Ogden, UT; and Douglas (Peggy) Wheelwright, South Ogden, UT; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and two brothers, Sandra Cullimore, and Steven Cullimore, both of Pleasant Grove, UT; and Forrest (Billie) Cullimore, Blackfoot, ID.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one infant brother, Gary Smith Cullimore.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Becky Wheelwright, Gayle Whitmer, Marie Fowers; Applegate Hospice, specifically Carrie, Kelly, Mandy, and Shonna; and the Comfort Keepers caregivers for the love and care they provided.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7th at 11 a.m. at the Waterfall Canyon Ward Chapel, 3254 Polk Avenue.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday, December 6th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
