Geoffrey Paul Hansen

Geoff was born on October 24, 1951, in Salt Lake City to Orrin (Ole) and Jeanne Wells Hansen and passed away on April 2, 2015. He married the love of his life, Greta (Margaret) Halterman in January of 2010 and they spent five wonderful married years in Layton. He joined the LDS church on Christmas day of 2010. The following year, Geoff and Greta were sealed for time and all eternity.

Geoff attended Judge Memorial High School, Weber State University, Westminster College, and the University of Utah, earning his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He excelled in academics, music, art, baseball, basketball, and football until he found his true passion in acting. He attended The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Hollywood, California, also studying with Milton Katselas. He had a long acting and directing career and loved teaching his acting classes. He also taught acting, directing and film studies at Salt Lake Community College. Geoff continued his love for music throughout his life, with a special affinity for his banjo .

He is survived by his wife, Greta; brother, Wally; sisters, Sally Johnson (David) and Rosie Mitchell; half siblings, Jane Bryan (Steve) and Lauri Hansen; stepchildren, Madelynn and William Lambert; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and half brother Mike Hansen (Carolyn).

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the LDS Chapel, 1015 N. Emerald Drive, Layton, UT.

Services entrusted to Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
