George Herman Bronson

Layton, Utah

Layton, Utah—“Herm” passed away peacefully from heart failure on Dec. 3, 2016 in SLC, UT surrounded by family. Born Feb. 26, 1937 in Elba, ID; to Wesley Reid Bronson and Margery Taylor. Herm enjoyed growing up in a loving rural community where his family farmed, rode horses, hunted and strengthened their testimony of the Savior. Graduating from Raft River High School in Malta, Idaho Herm pursued a career in Finance. Herm continued farming where he taught his children the value of hard work.

Herm was a member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities. A favorite talent was his ability to sing. Herm was often invited to sing at special events. Herm enjoyed the outdoors.

Herm married Shirley RaNae Barton and their family consisted of six children: Ken (Tamsin), Lisa (Paul), Vickie (Larry), Keith (Tonya), Gary, and Gina (Thom). Later Herm married Evelyn Maria Call Brown and they raised her four children, Kevin (Dwan), Clint (Jodi), Craig (Andrea) and Kandace (Troy). Preceded in death by Shirley RaNae Barton, parents, brothers Marvin, Owen, Jerry and sister Doris. Survived by his sister Rada, brother “J” Gerold (Dorothy), 38 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Valley View LDS Stake Center, 1589 E. Gentile St., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Cambridge Cemetery, Downey, Idaho.
