George J. Brown

George J. Brown, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017.

He was born June 18, 1923 to George Wallace and Maude Wuthrich Brown.

In 1951, George married Gladys Louise Smalley and together they raised two children, Scott D. Brown and Kathy L. Brown Gleason.

He was proud to be a member of the world’s greatest generation.

George served in the U.S. Navy and is a veteran of WWII. He served from January 1943 through March 1946. He was very proud of being a member of the elite FRRU Special Support Services in the Navy serving in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged March 1946.

He graduated Ogden High School Class of 1942 and attended Marquett University,

George worked for the Defense Logistic Agency at Defense Depot of Ogden and later with the Defense Subsystem Region in Europe and Germany. He retired in 1979.

He is survived by his son, Scott Brown, daughter, Kathy Brown Gleason, granddaughters, Amanda (Kris) Zelkin, Colorado; Jenny Brown, Los Angeles, CA; brother, Jay Brown and sister, Joanne Harp. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, two sisters and a daughter-in-law.

At George’s request there will be private family services.
