George Alvin Budd, age 97, passed away on August 15, 2015. He was born September 30, 1917 to James Hurvey and Eva Dangerfield Budd in Taber, Alberta Canada. George married Mary Wallis Eastwood on September 4, 1942 in the Salt Lake City temple. Together they had seven children: Mary Jo (Harvey) Rasmussen, Daryl (Bonnie), Don (Darcy), Steve, Annette (Ron) Cloward, Barry (Jenny), and JanaLee (Mark) Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, son Steve, and pretty much everyone else he knew.
George served with the United States Army in the Southwest Pacific Theater of Operations during World War II from 1943 to 1945. He loved riding his bike and finally hung up his helmet at age 93 after logging more than 26,000 miles, including over 2000 miles his last year of riding. George was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. See you soon Dad…but not too soon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Clearfield 3rd Ward, 350 Vine St. Clearfield, UT. Friends may visit with family on Sunday, August 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
