George J. Carver
WASHINGTON TERRACE – George John Carver, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2008 in Washington Terrace.
He was born February 18, 1924 in Clearfield, the son of Lewis Henry and Afton Freestone Carver.
George married June Maughan on October 23, 1944 in Hooper.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dad retired from Hill Air Force Base as a supervisor following many years of service.
George enjoyed helping his family and friends with many projects. He also enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family in the outdoors. He was a Scout Master and a Posse Leader.

Surviving are his wife, June, of Washington Terrace; six children, Judy Bambrough, Allen Carver, Val Carver, Terry Carver, Bruce Carver and Dan Carver and families including 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He loved them all.
Also surviving is his brother, Jim (Norma) Carver.
Preceding George in death were his parents, brothers and sisters, Glen, Floyd, May, Iona, June, Marge, Betty, Mary, Truman, Roberts, and William, his grandson Cody and son-in-law, Boyd.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
