George Kenton “Kent” Donaldson, 87, passed away November 27, 2008 in Bountiful, UT. He was born December 25, 1920 to George and Mayme Peterson Donaldson.
Kent graduated from West High School, class of 1938, and was the ROTC rifle state champion. He served as a pilot in the US Air Force in World War II and in the Korean Conflict. He married Edna Cooper and together they had two children Gary and Cheryl Lynn; they later divorced. He married Betty Jorgenson May 27, 1950. The marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa LDS Temple. Together they raised Betty’s two daughters Noma and Carol.
He was a member of the LDS Church and served two missions. One was to the Toronto Canadian Mission in 1939. He later served a mission with his wife, Betty, to the Winnepeg Canadian Mission. Together they also worked in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples. He was an avid sky diver, hunter and fisherman. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Betty Marie Donaldson; four children: son Gary Donaldson, daughters Cheryl Lynn (Matt) Chambers, Carol Limburg and Noma Bishop; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons Jeff and Wayne Limburg; one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2008, at 2:00 pm in the Bountiful 41st Ward, 165 S. 10th E., Bountiful, UT. Friends may call Sunday, November 30, from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., and Monday 1-1:45 pm at the church prior to the services. Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
