George Dube
George Dube, 87, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015.
George was born in Berlin, NH on February 22, 1928 to Ferdinand and Ophillia Boucher Dube. At the age of four his parents passed away and he was raised in an orphanage in Washington DC until the age of 14. He lived in Washington DC until coming to Utah December 29, 1948, living in Ogden, Salt Lake City, Sunset, Layton and Perry.
On January 5, 1951 he married Antonette Rijnsburger. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 12, 1964. He was a very unselfish man always giving with a smile. His children adored him.
He served in the U.S. Army and Marine Reserves. George was employed at HAFB as an electrician with 33 ½ years of service, retiring on April 29, 1983. He was a member of the Chancellor Garden Branch in Clearfield.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, two daughters, Steven (Beverly Ann deceased), Cedar Park, TX; Peggy Dube, North Salt Lake; Roger (Janet) Dube, Ogden; Michelle (Kevin) Groves, Layton; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and his brother Dan, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
