George W. Falk
NORTH OGDEN – George Wilson Falk, 72, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 surrounded by his family.
He was born May 28, 1937 in Ogden, a son of George Marion and Isabella Wilson Falk.
On June 28, 1957, George married Emma Joyce Granquist in Ogden.
He was raised and educated in Ogden. He attended Pingree Elementary where he was a Drum Major. He graduated from Ogden High School where he served in R.O.T.C. He later served with the Utah National Guard.
George was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pleasant View 2nd Ward.
He retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1986 following 30 years of service.
George was a past member of the B.P.O. Elks #719. He loved camping and boating at Red Fish Lake and Flaming Gorge with his friends and family. He loved fly fishing on the Ogden River and enjoyed reading and solving word searches. George loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in their activities. He was blessed in 2009 with three beautiful great-grandchildren, Luke, Zander and Piper.
George volunteered at McKay-Dee Hospital following his stroke doing data entry. George was known for his wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce, of North Ogden; children,Carrie (Scot) Barrow, Tamara (Jared) Charlton, George H. Falk, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his sister, Ann (Dennis)Crezee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter-in-law, Loriann Hall Falk.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
