George David Laure, 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2007 surrounded by his family and friends.
George was born in Rochester, New York, to Dominic Laure and Rose DelVecchio where he attended school and excelled in sports and made numerous friends. George worked in Rochester and in several places where he made friends and lasting impressions to all he met. George later moved to Utah where he enjoyed winter skiing, running, and other sports.
In Utah is where he met the love of his life, his wife, Dolores "Dodo" Lovato. George and Dolores were blessed with two daughters, Julianne Rose, and Dominique Ann "Nikki". At the time of George''s passing, he was employed by Smith''s Frozen Dough Plant where many of his friendships were formed.
George enjoyed a very active life that revolved around his daughters'' sporting events and social activities. George was a sports fanatic enjoying all sports, especially golf, which he called "Heaven on Earth." He was a huge Jazz fan and the New York Yankees number one fan.
George enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, trips to Bear Lake, and really enjoyed fine cuisine a" and I mean really, really enjoyed good food. George was always entertaining his family and friends, even during his last weeks. He always sang Dean Martin or Rolling Stones while showing a" what he thought were his best dance moves. George leaves a legacy of pranks and practical jokes behind that will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him. One knew if he or she were the recipient of one of his pranks, then you were special in George''s heart.
George is survived by his wife Dolores, Roy; his son, Mark Lewis (Laurie), two grandchildren, all of Chicago, IL; two daughters, Julianne and Dominique; and one sister, Angela Crosby, Holly Springs, NC.
George is also survived by his Lovato and Montano extended families, including father and mother-in-law, Julian and Rose Lovato, Ogden; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
