George Charles Roods

Our beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather, George Charles Roods passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 5, 2021, with his family by his side.
He was born August 21, 1952 in Ogden, Utah to John and Julia Roods.
George was an avid outdoorsman. He loved being up in the mountains, he would spend most of the year up there at his bus. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was always so happy to see his grandchildren, and he adored his two great-granddaughters Octavia and Blakeley.
George always went out of his way to help anyone. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
George is survived by his daughter, Shelly (Brandon) Monson, Roy; step-sons, Kent Miller, WA; Joshua Roods, GA; step-daughters, Tanya (Jamie) Robertson, WA; Crystal (Carl) Moore, Evanston, WY; 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Myrtle Ransom, Roy; and Cathy Hardin, Ogden. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandsons, Tyler, David; brothers, John, Charles; two sisters, Katherine, Charlotte; and nieces, Brenda, Mary, Betty, Sarah; and his grandparents.
The family would like to give a big heart felt thank you to Inspiration Hospice, Dr. Alisha Richins, nurse Jayme Wright, aide Alisha Miller, whom he adored, and social workers Heather and Chapin Austin.
There will be a private spreading of his ashes at his favorite place. A celebration of life will be held in October when all family can be here. It will be held in Roy at Sandridge Park.
