Our sweet mother, Georgia Smith Martin Lund, 89, passed away peacefully early Monday, June 8, 2015 at her home.  We are so blessed by knowing this sweet woman.  She loved everyone.  The world was truly a better place to have her in it, and the world will miss her sweet smile. She was born on March 3, 1926 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Herbert Elias and Arlena Hatch Smith.  She attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO.

She married Edward Rich Martin on November 14, 1945 in Ogden.  Edward passed away on February 22, 1955.  She married Dr. Anthony James Lund on December 16, 1961 in Ogden, Utah.  Anthony passed away on March 18, 1992.

Georgia was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.

She was President of the Weber County Heritage Foundation and was passionate about it.  She was also a member of the Junior League.  Georgia enjoyed being involved with the 2002 Olympics.  She loved all things outdoors whether it was playing tennis, skiing, hiking or gardening.  Above all, she was a wonderful mother and loved her family.

Georgia is survived by her children, Jan Meikle (Noel) Zabriskie, Randy (Vickie) Martin, Angie (Fez) DeHart, Chad L. Martin, Kristen (Jim) Beech, and Knute (Karen) Lund; 29 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Jim Meikle; stepsons, Lief, and Zack, and grandson, Matthew; sister, Marion; and brother, Sherman.
