Georgia Hunter Merrill
April 13, 1926 ~ February 14, 2017
I left this earth the morning of February 14, 2017 fulfilling my wish of passing away in my beloved home.
My first appearance on this earth was on April 13, 1926. I was the 3rd child of George M and Pauline Wood Hunter in Cedar City, Utah.
With lots of love, fun and enjoyment I was raised and schooled in Cedar City Schools. I am a graduate of the LDS Hospital School of Nursing with a degree from the U of U. I worked as a nurse in Utah, Idaho, and California.
I married L. Garr Merrill in Cedar City, Utah, on July 4, 1949. This marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Due to training and school we lived in Bingham Canyon, Utah; American Falls, Idaho and Salt Lake City before making our home in Ogden, Utah and then Huntsville.
I was blessed with four children, Kathie (Mark) Miller, Susan Agricola, L. Brent (Karyn) Merrill, and Rodney H. (Lisa) Merrill. I have eight grandchildren: Allison (Tim) Gardner, John C. (Andrea) Miller, Jeffrey M. Miller, Kamden G. and Kendall F. Merrill, Calvin G. Agricola, River and Cheyenne Merrill, Peyton C. Nicholas and Branden R. Connor. Eight great grandchildren: Makena, Chloe, Finley and Isabelle Gardner, Owen and Declan Miller, Natalie and Miles Miller.
I have many happy memories from serving in many organizations in the Ogden Community as a member of the Junior League of Ogden Director, on the Community Art Council, Symphony Board, President of the Weber County Hospital Foundation, President of the Weber County Medical Alliance, Utah State Medical Alliance, Medical Alliance Legislation Committee, and active in the PTA. I served many years as Vice President of the Lake Bonneville Cub Scouting Program and an Honorary Member of the Council.
I am active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: serving as a teacher, Huntsville 2nd Ward Relief Society President, Huntsville Stake Relief Society President, on the Ogden Primary Board, and a Visiting Teacher for many years.
Preceded in death by my parents, husband, Norine (Walter) Bell, Clyde (Fern) Hunter, Antone (Fern) Hunter and Gary Adams. Allso survived by siblings Richard W. (Yvonne) Hunter and Kathryn Adams.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Huntsville Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Marcella Naumu and Home Instead for their loving care and support.
In lieu of flowers Georgia would like you to donate to a charity of your choice.
