Gerald Elwood Dawson, 73, passed away on July 29, 2023. Even though a failing heart took him, his loving heart left a beacon of light behind for his loved ones. He passed away peacefully at home, with Joy by his side.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Joy (Combe) 50 “Joy” full years together says it all. He was a proud dad to DeLaney Dawson, Jera (Dawson) Robison, Dylan Robison, and Best Poppa to Kamry and Dawson Robison. Brother to Carol (Rex) Robison, Kathleen Dawson Pacheco, and Gayle (Garry) Watson.
He was born to George Elwood Dawson and Eva Jones Jensen on February 12, 1950, a life of adventure, mischief, Love, and laughter.
Gerald attended Clearfield High School. He then served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He served honorably, then embarked on higher education at Weber State University, where he received his degree in psychology and sociology.
Being with his tribe was his true joy. His heart belonged to his dear mama, Eva Jensen. Although he filled his time with many adventures, “Puttering” was his favorite past time. He always had an enlightening saying for the moment at hand.
Rest in peace, dear Gerald (Poppa, Jerry). Your laughter will continue to resonate in our lives, reminding us to value every moment and spread love wherever we go.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 6-8 pm, at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
