Gerald M. Keller
OGDEN – Gerald Maurice Keller, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 of causes incident to age.
He was born December 2, 1925 in Vallejo, California, the son of Charley Bill and Ethel Amanda Doerr Keller. Gerald moved from Vallejo, California to Portland, Oregon, to Ogden, Utah where he grew up and spent the remainder of his life. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1944.
He joined the U.S. Navy on February 18, 1944. During World War II he served in the South Pacific as a Seaman 1st Class and was honorably discharged from the Navy on May 25, 1946.
Gerald married Beverly Ann Bezyack on October 4, 1952 in Price, Utah. They were the parents of three children.
He worked for Safeway Grocery Stores in 1943 followed by five years for General Mills. In 1951 he worked as a foreman for Gresham Roofing until May of 1967. He then worked for 17 years as an instrument sealer for Hill Air Force Base. He retired January 3, 1986.
Gerald enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed rock hunting.
Gerald is survived by one son, Gregory Lou ( Kim) Keller, two daughters, Lynette (Jeff) Dabb, Sandra Jeane (Robert) Bebout, four grandchildren, Shawn J. Keller, Benjamin S. Keller, Robert G. Bebout, Amber J. Bebout and five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Keller, Connor Harris, Amber Vaughn, Dalisity and William Pollack.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Ann Keller, his father, Charley Bill Keller, his mother, Ethel Amanda Doerr Keller and his sister, Charleen Hunt.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where Military Honors will be accorded.
