Gerald Carl King
LAYTON – Loving husband, beloved father and grandfather, Gerald Carl King, 80, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013.
He was born January 4, 1933 in Provo, Utah the son of Clifton Franklin and Norma Pedersen King.
Gerald married Carma Terry on June 3, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He served in the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy.
Gerald was an active member of the LDS church and served in the Bishopric.
He was an avid BYU fan, loved to hunt, fish and go to Moab. His greatest love was his grandchildren and his two dogs Lucy and Daisy.
Surviving are his wife Carma of Layton; sons Bradley (Wendy) King, Syracuse; Herbert Tom (Barbara) Orrell, Reno, NV; daughter Lisa (David) Lee, Syracuse; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brothers, Paul (Phyllis) King, Benjamin; Jimmie (Marcia) King, Payson; sisters, Norma Jane (Joe) Martinez, Springville; and Kathleen England, Salt Lake City. Carma would also like to recognize LoriAnn, Janae, Rochell and their families.
Preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Layton Park Chapel, 125 Chapel Street, Layton. Friends may visit the family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Alpine City Cemetery at 3 p.m.
