Gerald Eugene Palmer

Gerald Eugene Palmer passed away peacefully at Mt. Ogden Health and Rehabilitation on Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Ogden, Utah, at the age of 75.
He was born September 12, 1940 in Kenmare, North Dakota to Purson H. and Evelyn Aggen Palmer. He graduated from Weber County High School in 1959.
Gerald honorably served in the U.S. Army, PFCE 3 for eight years from 1959-1967, as a paratrooper, served three years in Frankfurt, Germany from 1961-1964.
On May 5, 1965, Gerald married Frances Salisbury; they were married for 50 years. They were the parents of five loving children. They remember him as a kind and driven father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Gerald worked for Hill Air Force Base as an Aircraft Towing Equipment Operator, for 32 years, retiring in 1993. Prior he was an Ambulance driver for several years.
He was accomplished at Mobile Engine Service advanced trade and often an example of a responsible, hardworking, dependable person. He was a generous and dedicated individual who loved bowling, camping, and who was passionate about his family.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Frances; their children, Donna Palmer Buchanan, Ronald Palmer; Jerry Scott Berkley, and Terry Berkley; granddaughter, Jordis Buchanan; siblings, Betty Palmer Petroff, Gary Duane Palmer, and Geneva May Palmer Whitten. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Wayne Palmer, one sister, Marian E. Palmer and two brothers, Richard Dean Aggen and Robert Spencer Palmer.
The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gerald’s life.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at America First Credit Union under the name of Gerald E. Palmer.
