Gerald Michael Rutkowski

May 31, 1936 – November 22, 2017

Gerald M. Rutkowski, age 81, passed away November 22, 2017 in Layton, Utah.  He was born May 31, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Michael and Agnes Rutkowski. He married June Shea on July 8, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He served in the United States Army with the 10th Mountain Division of the 40th Field Artillery Battalion, where he was awarded a sharp shooter decoration and also a good conduct medal.

Gerald loved golf and enjoyed working as a Marshall at Sun Hills Golf Course for two years.

He liked to go to Wendover and Mesquite, Nevada with his family where he enjoyed playing Three Card Poker.  He was well liked by many and made friends easily.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Layton, Utah.

He is survived by his wife June, two sons; Mark Waldeck, Dan Wolniakowski, two daughters; Jerelyn Edwards, Susan (Millard) Talbot, his twin sister Geraldine Biskup, ten Grandchildren several great-grandchildren, and his cat Max who misses him.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.  A Vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Interment, Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park at a later date.
