Gerald Walter Schuster son of Walter P. Schuster and Irene E. Schmidt, Schuster, Killey died June 7, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah

Gerald (Jerry) was born September 25, 1937 in Bay City, Michigan where he graduated from T.L. Handy High School.

After his tour in the U.S. Air Force he settled in Long Beach, California, which he considered home after spending most of his adult life there. Gerald worked many years in the Long Beach harbor for overseas shipping companies, and truly loved his many years there. Gerald moved to Utah 15 years ago having lived in Layton and Ogden. While in Layton he learned to make beautiful wood turned pens and greatly enjoyed the meeting''s of the Utah Association of Woodturners. He loved classical music as well as pipe organ music. He attended many recitals at "The Motorcycle Shop" in Long Beach California which housed a large pipe organ. Gerald chose the time and place of his passing after many months of seeking help for his physical ailments at the SLC VA Medical Center.

His passing leaves us heartsick that his medical needs were not met.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth Schuster (Chelle), Marquette, Michigan; brother Ronald Schuster, Bella Vista, Arkansas; sister Joyce Sheldon (Les), Layton, Utah; and a very special Aunt Arlene Schuster of Bay City.

He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends as well as his four legged furry friend Star.

Cremation under the direction of Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Friday June 19, 2009 at 2 p.m.
