Gerald “Jerry” Todd
LAYTON – Gerald “Jerry” Todd passed away following an accident on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. He was born May 28, 1932 in Antigo Wisconsin. Following school, he enlisted in the USAF. He served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, retiring in 1972. Following his retirement, he was employed as a meat cutter at the H.A.F.B. Commissary retiring in 1994. He continued his commitment to the commissary as a vendor stocker until his passing.
On May 15, 1982, he married his love, MaryAnn Davies. Together they were active in Queen Ester Chapter #4 O.E.S., Shriners, and Gateway Lodge #39 F.A.M. of Utah. Jerry served as a Worthy Grand Patron of the State of Utah.
He enjoyed bird hunting, cooking, the outdoors, and his friends. He was known for his jokes.
Jerry is survived by his wife MaryAnn, daughter Debbie (Rick) Shelton, son-in-law Ronald B. Vedaa, five grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Also survived by one brother and three sisters.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Jennifer Vedaa and Patricia Todd, three brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where military honors will be accorded by H.A.F.B. Honor Guard.
