Geraldine “Jerry” Hainsworth Myers

June 28, 1921 ~ August 5, 2014

Geraldine “Jerry” Hainsworth Myers, 93, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014.  She was born on June 28, 1921 in Burley, Idaho to Kenneth Morris and Mima Jane Child Hainsworth.  She attended schools in Utah, Colorado, California, Oregon, and Washington State.  After graduating from high school at age 17, she got an art scholarship to Maryhurst College in Laurelhurst, Washington.  In her life she won many awards for watercolor and oil paintings as well other fields of art.

She married Cloyd Eugene Myers on September 1, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Geraldine was a member The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kingston Ward.  Throughout her life she served in various organizations of the church.  She was also a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

She loved books and was an avid reader and a member of two book clubs since 1942.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Kenneth Eugene Myers and Keith Jerome Myers; 17 grandchildren; one sister, Beth; three brothers, Morris, Jerome “Jay”, and Don.

She was preceded in death by her husband, grandson, Craig Myers; and one sister, Ruth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Primary Children’s Medical Center, P O Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249
