Geraldine “Jeri” May Keeter Sanders

May 16, 1927 ~ August 13, 2015

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Geraldine May Keeter Sanders, 88, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015.  She was born on May 16, 1927 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Clifford Kenneth and Melba Minerva Shaw Keeter.

Jeri married Richard Frank “Sandy” Sanders on June 20, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on September 7, 1963.  They recently celebrated 68 wonderful years together.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions. She was a faithful and dedicated visiting teacher.

She worked at Carnegie Free Library and as a clerk at McKay Dee Hospital’s NICU.  She was an active member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and a member of Daughters of American Revolution.

She loved to golf, travel, bowl, quilt, knit, craft and putting together puzzles.

Jeri is survived by her loving husband, Richard, West Haven; son, Richard Keeter (Carren) Sanders, Hyde Park; daughters, Sidney (John) Kimble, South Jordan; Laurie Sanders, Layton; Paige Sanders, West Haven; and Mindi Sanders, Ogden; 18 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Otto John Fredrick and Lucy Anna Leah Dennis Keeter; and Ernest and Betsy Grace Vanderhoof Shaw.

The family wishes to thank Davita Weber Valley Dialysis Center, Dr. Grace O’Brien and staff, and Dr. Harry O. Senekjian and staff.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
