Gilbert M. Garcia

June 21, 1941 ~ August 27, 2016

Gilbert M. Garcia, 75, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016.  He was born on June 21, 1941 in Lubbock, Texas to Jose Duran and Aurora Rivera Garcia.

He married Esther Garcia on June 21, 1967 and she passed away on February 9, 2014.

Gilbert worked at Brill West and Pillsbury.

He was a member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Chicano Golf Association.

Gilbert enjoyed golfing, bowling, and the outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing so much he was always trying to get out fishing as much as he could.

Gilbert is survived by his sons, David (Donna) Rodriguez and Patrick (Nicole) Garcia; five grandchildren and five-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Pete, Martin, Jesse, and Johnny Garcia; and sisters, Boise Martinez and Lucy Garcia.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers, Joe Rosas, Jimmy Garcia, and Jose Reuben Garcia; and sister, Rosalinda Garcia.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven.  Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
