Gilbert C. Schaub

Gilbert C. Schaub passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Heritage Park Care Center.

He was born July 29, 1913 in Prairie du Chein, Wisconsin, the son of Clarence G. Schaub and Mabel B. Kaiser.

Gib married Lorraine Duggan on November 9, 1946 in Manchester, IA at St. Mary''s Catholic Church. Lorraine preceded him in death on January 21, 2007.

He was a World War II Veteran, serving with the 9th Army Air Corp. in the European Theatre from 1942 to 1945. He retired from Hill Air Force Base May, 1972 having completed 31 years of Civil Service as an Ammunition Inspection Specialist; a Logistics Specialist with tours of duty at Savanna Ordnance Depot, Savanna IL; Souix Ordnance Depot, Sidney, NE; Ryukus Command Headquarters, Okinawa; and Air Proving Ground, Eglin Air Force Base, FL.

Gib was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary''s Men''s Club, American Legion Post 9 and National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees.

Gib is survived by a niece, Patricia E. Zander, LaCrescent, MN and a nephew, Gregory Schaub, Onalaska, WI.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a sister and a brother.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 4th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, with a vigil service at 9:30 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Benedict''s Foundation or St. Mary''s Building Fund.

The family expresses their appreciation to the physicians, nurses and administration at Heritage Park Care Center for the care and compassion they gave to Gib.
