Gladys M. Drew
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Gladys Marie Drew, age 86, died on January 11, 2008, following five years of courageous struggle with complications from a stroke.
Gladys was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 7, 1921. After high school she traveled extensively in the employment of the Civil Services. After marrying George C. Drew in 1950 she traveled again as an Air Force wife and mother and settled in Kaysville, Utah. She and her husband George lived in retirement in Layton and Centerville with winters spent in Apache Junction, AZ. Throughout her life she was active in the Catholic Church, as a CCD teacher, visiting the sick and attending weekly adoration.
Gladys is survived by her spouse, George Drew, her four children Pamela Brown (Bob), Fresno, CA; Chris Drew, Centerville; Robin Sorensen, PA; Elizabeth Lucido (Lou), Park City. She also leaves behind a sister, Janice Lee; six grandchildren, Heather, Lisa, Cody, Rusty, Vanessa and Tony, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Dolores Sutter. Gladys will be remembered for her sense of humor, her pleasant gentle nature, her love of growing tomatoes and walking with her grandchildren and her dog.
A memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church, 1800 S. Orchard Dr. Bountiful, UT. Visitation, Friday from 6-7 pm with vigil service at 7 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Cremation under the direction of Lindquist Crematory.
