Gladys Irene Robinson Howell

Gladys Irene Robinson Howell, 89, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 surrounded by her family.

She was born December 26, 1922 in Dudenville, Missouri to Grace L. Swank and Roy F. Robinson. She was the fifth of eight children.

On January 9, 1945, Gladys married Fonden Parley Howell in in Springfield, Missouri, and together they had two sons, William Michael Howell and Roger DeWayne Howell.

She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 40 years and attended the Harbor Christian Church.

Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Though miles apart, she kept in regular contact with her siblings and their families. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, shopping, and raising her canaries. Her quick witted nature drew many to her.

Gladys retired from the Defense Depot of Ogden after 27 years of service and maintained active friendships with many throughout her life.

Gladys is survived by her two sons, William Michael (JoAnn) Howell and Roger DeWayne (Joanne) Howell, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one of whom is serving in the United States Air Force and another serving in the Concepcion, Chile LDS Mission. She is also survived by one sister, Olive Reeve of Grand Junction, Colorado and many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16th at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Clifton Cemetery, Clifton, Idaho.
