Gladys Rae Nielson

Gladys Rae Nielson, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from causes incident of age. She was born on May 4, 1926 to George and Anna Mae Wilcox Hicks in Roosevelt, Utah.

She married G. Keith Nielson on July 2, 1946 in Elko, Nevada. Keith and Gladys lived in Colorado, Germany, Washington, Texas and finally settled in Utah for the last 35 years. After 56 wonderful years together, Keith passed away on July 7, 2002.

Gladys was a member of the Washington Terrace 8th Ward.

She loved being a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed embroidering and spending time with her grandchildren.

Gladys is survived by her sons, Michael K. (Lori) Nielson and Steven L. (Sharae) Nielson; daughters, Christine Poteet and LeaAnn (Robert) Bristol; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and sister, Jeanne (Floyd) Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, G. Keith Nielson; parents, George and Anna Mae Hicks; and brother, Keith Hicks.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
