Glaydon William Ferrin
November 8, 1934 - September 21, 2014

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Glaydon William Ferrin, was freed from the bonds of his earthly body on Sunday, September 21, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Glaydon was born on November 8, 1934, in Ogden, Utah the fourth child of Harold Leon and Norma Ann Taylor Ferrin.  He attended Weber County Schools and graduated from Weber High School. He served an LDS Mission to New Zealand and served in the National Guard.

Glaydon met the love of his life, Beverly Anita Grow, on a blind date.  They were married three months later on January 8, 1959, Anita's 21st birthday.  They celebrated 55 wonderful years together.  Dad loved and cherished mom.  Glaydon and Anita loved spending time together.

Dad was very friendly and made friends wherever he went. He had several dear friends over the years and cherished those friendships.

He loved fishing with his sons, grandsons, and friends at any lake or pond.  He loved going hunting with his boys, brothers, and grandsons. He also enjoyed the many family camping trips and their property at Lava.

Glaydon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in various callings until his health would no longer allow it. He was a great Patriarch to his family. One of the greatest lessons he taught was his love of the Savior and his love of the gospel.  He was a great example to all of us.  He supported his family in all of their many church callings and endeavors with his unwavering testimony.

Dad had many health issues over the years and mom was always there.  Not only a dedicated, patient and loving caregiver, but a great example of service to all of us. He was always so grateful for everything that was done for him.

Glaydon is survived by his loving wife, Anita of Farr West; children, Kaye and Gary Parkin of Plain City; Joyce and Mark Blanscett of Pocatello, ID; Boyd and Pam Ferrin of Farr West, Aaron and Kathy Hancock and Brett and Kristen Ferrin of Plain City; 21grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Bates; brothers, Rex Ferrin and Conrad (Kristen) Ferrin; sisters-in-law, Wilma Ferrin and Judy (Bob) Poll.

He was preceded in death by his son, Scott; parents, brothers, Junior, Luan, and Garth, brothers-in-law, Melvin Williams, Lambert Bates; and sister-in-law, Joan Ferrin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Farr West Ward Chapel, 2123 N. 2000 W.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

The family wishes to thank the many doctors and nurses who made it possible for us to enjoy our husband and dad for many years.
