Glen Alma Cook

Glen Alma Cook passed away peacefully at his home on November 4, 2011 due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis.

Glen was born in Ogden, Utah on December 5, 1949 to Lloyd J. and Fay S. Cook. He married Deanna Miller on November 8, 1968 in Syracuse, Utah, and that marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1994 after 25 years of service.

Glen loved camping, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors, whether for work or for play. He also loved riding and racing horses and helped raise and train them, both for flat track and cutter racing. He was a member of the Davis County Mounted Sheriff''s Posse, Beehive Racing Association, and Bear River Cutter Racing Association at various times in his life. He didn''t always win, but he always enjoyed the ride!

Glen is survived by his wife Deanna, two sons Cory (Diann), Brody (Brooke), two daughters, Glenna (David) Edwards, Melanie (Kirk) Thurgood, and eighteen grandchildren. He also is survived by two brothers, Leo (Marlene) Cook, Brent (Judy) Cook, and one sister Carolyn Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Faelyn, and brother-in-law Kelly Green.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Syracuse Bluff Ridge Ward, 535 West 2700 South. Friends may visit family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, and on Wednesday from 12:45 a€" 1:45 p.m. at the church prior to services.

The family wishes to express their thanks to all the nurses and aides at Hearts for Hospice, who helped care for Glen, and especially to Megan and Korey for all their kindness to him and our family.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
