Glen William Cundall
November 30, 1918 ~ December 17, 2008
Glen William Cundall passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, due to causes incident to age. Glen was born November 30, 1918, in Sutton, Nebraska, to Arthur and Florence Cundall, one of eleven children. He married Mary Yaunt June 28, 1949, in Yokohama, Japan. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Glen served in the United States Army stationed overseas during the Korean War and World War II. When he returned to the States, he and Mary settled in Kaysville, Utah, where they raised their two daughters. Glen took pride in a wonderful vegetable garden which he shared with neighbors, friends and relatives while Mary canned, pickled, and dried the rest for winter. He served as Mayor of Kaysville two consecutive terms and was involved in development of the IPP project in Central Utah. His accomplishments in life are many and he cherished the 40+ years he spent as a member of the Board of Directors of America First Credit Union, serving as Chairman of the Board, and as a Board member of the National League of Credit Unions. His AFCU friends were like family after he and Mary moved to Salt Lake City and then St. George to live out their retirement years, and he looked forward to his monthly trips to Ogden for Board meetings.
One of Glen''s favorite pastimes was playing with and entertaining the youngsters in his family. He never met a child that he couldn''t make smile or laugh and he looked forward to visits from his grandchildren with enthusiasm. He was delighted to be part of their lives and was ever so excited when his great-grandchildren were born. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Marie Carleson and Glenda Kosanke (Kraig), four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, three sisters, preceded in death by his wife of almost 55 years.
A special thanks goes to St. George Care Center and Zions Way Hospice for their loving care during Glen''s last days.
At Glen''s request, there will be no funeral service. Friends and family may call Monday, December 22, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, Kaysville, Utah.
Graveside services will be held at Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood at 1:00 p.m.
