Our loving Father and Grandfather, Glen Lee Jones, 76, returned home on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Ogden, Utah.
He was born on February 4, 1937 to Otto George and Zella Fowers Jones in Ogden, Utah. He was a lifelong resident of Ogden graduating from Ogden High School where he loved playing sports, especially baseball.
Glen married his sweetheart, Karen Margean Hagen on September 1, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They shared 57 wonderful years together before Margean''s passing on October 15, 2012.
He earned a Bachelor''s degree from Weber State College. Glen worked as an accountant for Western Mortgage & Loan.
Glen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he loved serving as Bishop, Scout Leader, Young Men''s Leader, and Ward Financial Clerk. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and centered his life around the teachings of Jesus Christ.
He loved fishing and provided tips on the hottest fishing spots to friends all over Northern Utah. He played softball well into his 50''s. He was an enthusiastic baseball and basketball coach.
He was loved by many people because nobody was ever a stranger to him.
Glen is survived by his three children, Scott (DeAnn) Jones, Providence; Debra (Mark) Cross, Layton; and Tammy (Dave) Bennett, Layton; 11 grandchildren and spouses; 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Velma Lucas, and brother Donald Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Rock Cliff 1st Ward Chapel, 1000 Sunset Dr., Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
