“Together Again”

Glen Noorda, our loving husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend passed away surrounded by family on November 28, 2016.  He was born on July 28, 1928 in Ogden, Utah to Henry and Marie Bernards Noorda.  He was the youngest of nine children.  He graduated from Ogden High School and attended Weber College.  Glen served in the US Army and participated in the occupation of Japan following World War II.  Upon his return, he married the love of his life, Marion Blanche Hodson, on September 2, 1949 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They were blessed with two devoted sons and one beautiful daughter.  They raised their family in Ogden. Glen was so devoted to his wife and children. Holidays and birthdays were such a big deal.  He cooked the best breakfast in the world, the juiciest burgers on the grill, and grew the best garden. He was always there and so protective of his family.

Glen retired from Hill Air Force Base after 39 years of service.  While serving in the Air Force Reserves, he achieved the rank of CMSgt in the 419 TFW.  He was a member of the Taylor Canyon Ward and a High Priest in the Ogden Utah Stake.  He volunteered at the Hill Aerospace Museum and served on the board of directors of the Utah Aerospace Heritage Foundation.  He loved airplanes and his country.  Glen's loving wife passed away on May 11, 2013.  He missed her so much.  We are so happy they are together again.  He is survived by two sons and their wives, Brent and Debra Noorda, Bryan and Marcy Noorda; a son-in-law, John Hansen and his wife, Linda; granddaughters, Jeni, Tami, Amy, Kaesy, Tiffany, Natalie, and Nicole; grandsons, Sean, Jeffrey, Michael, and Tyler; and 23 great-grandchildren.  Those awaiting him in heaven include his loving wife; his daughter, Susan Noorda Hansen; his parents; a great grandson, Ryan Brent Noorda, five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  He will be laid to rest next to his loving wife in the Ogden Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
