GLEN MELVIN OLSEN

OGDEN – Glen Melvin Olsen, 85, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015.

He was born February 23, 1930 in Renton, Washington to Seren Melvin and Gladys Wright Olsen.

Glen proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On June 21, 1956, Glen married Lorna Jane Davidson in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he faithfully served in various callings.

Glen retired from Boeing where he oversaw the final assembly of the 747 line.

He enjoyed gardening, mechanical work, auto repair, genealogy, music and photography.

Glen is survived by his wife Lorna; their children, Mike Olsen, Seattle, WA; Keith (Amy) Olsen, Warren; Kenneth (Angie) Olsen, Ogden; James Olsen, Ogden; Steven Olsen, Snohomish, WA; Jane Olsen, Snohomish, WA; Kathryn (David) Mies, Everett, WA; Beverly (Barry) Watson, Monroe, WA; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jerry Olsen, three sisters, Beth Van Zeben, Marva Edwards, Lieta Moore, grandson, Travis Hazelett, and step-grandson, Scott Watson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Warren Ward Chapel, 856 North 5900 West.   The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Warren/West Warren Cemetery.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Brookdale Nursing Home and Brighton Hospice for the love and care of our husband and father.
