Glen Leon Pulley

G. Leon Pulley ~Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather~ LAYTON-Glen Leon Pulley passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 6, 2008. He was born February 21, 1949 in Lehi, UT, the son of Glen and Ila Pulley. He married Connie Smith on September 10, 1971 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. An Eagle Scout, Leon loved scouting and lived its ideals. Music was always a huge part of his life. He sang in the All-State chorus while attending Lehi High School, and continued to foster his love of music with Sounds of Zion Choir while attending Utah State University and, later in life, sang alongside his wife in the Davis Master Chorale. As a young man, Leon served an LDS mission in the West Central States region, after which he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Industrial Teacher Education. He worked at the DATC where he began his teaching career. Most recently he worked as a telecommunications engineer at PEI. His life was one of love and service. He was especially devoted to his church, serving in many capacities, including Bishop of the Layton 1st Ward. Leon’s greatest joy was being with his family and seeing to their needs. He was a patient, loving, kind man who touched the lives of all he knew. He will always be remembered for his soft heart. He had a wonderful yet gentle sense of humor, and never spoke an unkind word about anyone. The most important thing in his life was his family. He never missed the chance to tell them how proud he was of them. He loved being “Papa” to his grandchildren. An extraordinarily spiritual man, Leon was an example to all of us. He was admired for his love and devotion to the gospel. We treasure the memories with him and will miss him tremendously. He lived his life each day as if he were going to meet his Father in Heaven and other loved ones beyond the veil, and rejoicing and anxiously awaiting the reunion of his family. Leon is survived by his wife, Connie; children, Ryan (Kristi) Pulley, Craig (Angie) Pulley, Amber (Justin) Telford, Ann (Aaron) Anderson, Michelle (Travis) Bodily, Scott Pulley; seven grandchildren, Collin Aubree, Sadie, Jacob, Kamree, Madison, and Daxton. Mother, Ila Pulley, two brothers and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen I Pulley. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Layton Utah Stake Center, 60 West Gordon Ave, Layton. Friends and family may call Monday March 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road and Tuesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 North Fairfield Road.
