Glenda Lorraine Wheeler

Glenda Lorraine Wheeler, 81, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017. She was born in Ely, Nevada, on March 23, 1935 to Alphonso Henroid and Ila Mae Bates.
She married Leo L. Wheeler on October 23, 1965 in West Valley, UT. In 1969, Leo and Glenda built a home in Syracuse where they resided for 44 years. Due to health issues, they moved to Ogden where they have lived for the last five years.
Glenda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She retired from Utah Power and Light in 1998, where she received many awards including Woman of the Year.
She enjoyed bowling, handicrafts, traveling, coin collecting, and genealogy.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Leo Wheeler; son, Gene (Terri) Hendrix of Hurricane, UT; daughters, Cindy Acker of West Haven and Maureen Mayer of Cheyenne, WY; stepson, Richard (Debbie) Wheeler, Oklahoma City, OK; stepdaughter, Christine (Leonard) Chesson of Lake Charles, LA; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, two brothers, one sister, and two son-in-laws.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
The family would like to thank Brookdale Assisted Living, Stone Henge Rehabilitation, and Mt. Ogden Rehabilitation for their loving care of Mom.
