Glenda Winters
July 23, 1928 ~ March 11, 2018
Glenda was born on July 23, 1928 and raised in Santa Monica, California to her loving parents, Herbert and Dorothy Smart, where she was raised from birth to the start of high school. After moving to Kaysville, she graduated from Davis High School.
Glenda worked at Hill Field and for the US Forest Service, which she enjoyed for many years.
Glenda had the warmest heart and the greatest love for her family and took pride in each and every one of her family members. She always expressed how proud of each of them she was. Glenda had a very generous and giving nature. She was wise beyond words and passed along many qualities and virtues to her family and loved ones around her. Glenda had a great love for the beach, which she wished to walk on one more time. She hoped that there would be tomatoes in Heaven.
We will all miss Glenda’s big, bright blue eyes, and the sweetest smile that could light up any room.
Glenda married Joseph Winters on November 7, 1948 and will be celebrating 70 years of marriage now that they are together again. Together they had three children, Joel Winters, Kathleen Shelton (Dean), and Todd Winters. They also have four grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Joseph (JJ), Ashley, and six great-grandchildren, whom they both loved more than anything. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter, Heidi. She will also be joining her close friends, Pat, Lee, Eileen and Barbara.
Glenda’s family would like to recognize the nurses, CNA’s and staff of Crestwood Care Center for their support, kindness and love they showed to Glenda every day for six years. Thanks also to Nurse Debbie and Emily from Horizon Hospice for their loving care.
Private services will be held at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1781 Combe Road.
