Glendon Malnar

Glendon (Glen) Keith Malnar, 73, passed away at home on Thursday, December 5, 2013. He was born in Neola, Utah on November 21, 1940 to Joseph S. and Rose (Wilkerson) Malnar. He graduated from Union High in 1959. He was known as one of the best all around athletes and participated in four sports, setting many records. Glen attended the University of Utah on a football scholarship. He married his high school sweetheart, Jackie Neilson, and together they were long time residents of Fruit Heights, Utah. They had four children together, Keith L. Malnar, Teresa (Brent) Ward, Don R. (Lori) Malnar and Lisa Grosgebauer. He worked for United Airlines for thirty-four years where he had many friends from Salt Lake City, Denver, and all the way to Chicago. Glen loved football, history, and a good debate. He loved to travel and enjoyed the big cities of the U.S. He was proud of his Croatian heritage and was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union of America.

He had eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his love, Jackie, parents, brother and a sister. He is survived by one sister, Cheryl (Glade) Goodrich of Cedar City, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton.

The family wishes to "Thank" all the caregivers who helped Dad. He truly will be missed.
