Glenn Robert Hutchinson

Glenn Robert Hutchinson joined his sweetheart and love of his life, Gladys Adelaide Lewis Hutchinson, in heaven on June 30th at 8:55 pm. He passed away peacefully at home in Bountiful, Utah.

He lived a life of sacrifice, hard work, loyalty, love, and service. Family was the most important thing to him and he leaves behind a righteous and numerous posterity, including children, Mary and Art Timothy, Glenna and Larry Grandia, Bob and Linda Freer Hutchinson, and Van and Laurie Keiser Hutchinson, 18 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys; parents, Abraham and Edith Barker Hutchinson; brothers Abraham, Arthur, Harold, and Harvey, and sisters Abigail and Lucille; grandson Robert Todd Hutchinson and great-grandson Todd Timothy.

Glenn was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings, including the bishopric. He especially loved singing and had a beautiful voice. As a young man, he shared it whenever there was a need in the church and in the community. He taught his family to love the Lord and to pray often. A tender memory is seeing him on his knees in his declining years.

Glenn was born on the 31st of March, 1921, in Evanston, Uinta, Wyoming. He loved ranching, and devoted most of his life caring for the family property in Hilliard, Wyoming, a ranch in a beautiful valley under the shadows of the majestic Uinta Mountains. He also worked for the railroad, served as the undersheriff of Uinta County, and had a successful career with Mountain Fuel Supply Company.

We are greatly appreciative of the dedication and care given to our dad from Vista Care Hospice with special thanks to Mindy Green, Michelle Miller, Hailey Toyn, Chris Richens, and Dan Von. We also acknowledge and appreciate the loving home care of many of his grandchildren. Glenn''s family would like to express the following tribute to him;

Strong bold men aren''t just born They are molded with the freedom of the land, The generations of love and loyalty, The sacrifice of hard work, physical endurance, dedicated service.

Their muscles come from lifting, strengthening, lengthening, laughing. Spiritual muscles too are forged from practice and use. Prayer, faith hope, dedication, devotion, constancy.

Our Dad was a strong bold man The cowboy version of manhood A dying generation. Where his word was his bond, Hard work and loyality defined him Family was his world and he could always be counted on.

He could fix anything with a little bailing wire He could cuss with the best of them He could break a horse, wrestle a steer, shear a sheep, milk a cow, hunt an elk, build a barn, hay from dawn to dark, clear a ditch, repair a house, butcher a beef. Doctor a lamb, calf, or child.

He had a strong mix of toughness and gentleness, Passion and patience, Intolerance and long suffering, Practicality and romanticism.

Heaven will be a better place with him there. We trust and believe that his love and care will extend on both sides of the veil. We love and respect both dad and mother deeply and will never quit missing them.
