Glenn L. Mehr

A great soul has returned home. Glenn L. Mehr passed to the other side peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at his home in Bountiful, Utah. A kind and gentle man, Glenn served faithfully in his Church and community. He was above all a peacemaker.

Glenn was born May 28, 1924, in Logan, Utah, to Otto Mehr and Martha Elizabeth Peirce. He grew up in Logan, Utah and served a LDS mission in the Northern States Mission. On August 31, 1947, Glenn and Denise Joan Smith were married in Preston, Idaho, and later sealed in the Logan Temple. They moved to Downey, California, in 1954. Glenn worked as a systems analyst for various firms in Southern California. The Flour Corporation sent Glenn and Denise to various work assignments in Secunda, South Africa; Calgary, Alberta; and Houston, Texas. They returned to Utah in 1985 where Glenn worked for the Family History Department of the LDS Church until he retired. Glenn and Denise also served a mission for the Church at the headquarters of the Northern European Area located in Solihull, England. Later Glenn served as a Bountiful Temple worker. Glenn loved listening to classical music and studying the early days of this nation, particularly the contributions of the founding fathers.

He is survived by his wife Denise and a sister, Carol Mehr Schiffman, Orem, Utah; three sons, Kahlile Bliss, Quentin Glenn, and Benjamin Andrew; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Erwin, Bliss, and Heber; sister Myr Louise Harmon.
