Glenn Porter

Glenn S Porter, born April 8, 1927 in Tooele Utah to Ahaz Abinadi and Matilda Lillian (Sterzer) Porter, passed away peacefully in his home on May 19, 2015.

He graduated from Tooele High School and earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Utah State University. Glenn was a World War II veteran. After returning home from the war he received a call to serve in the Swiss Austrian mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was sealed to his sweetheart Bonnie June Clark in the LDS Salt Lake Temple in 1953. Together they had eight children, Cynthia (Bob) Douglas, Melissa (Glenn) Martin, Nathan (Connie) Porter, Alan (Lani) Porter, Eric (Kim) Porter, Kristin (Troy) Stark, Bradley (Roxann) Porter, and Russell (Angela) Porter. Glenn was a long time resident of Davis County. Together Glenn and Bonnie served missions at the Washington D.C. Temple, the Dallas Texas Temple and a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City. Glenn found great happiness in the 18 years that he served as a temple worker.

He is survived by his children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie, and his two sisters.

A viewing will be held Monday, May 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rock Chapel, 25 South 200 East, Kaysville Utah. There will be a viewing prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
