Glenna Jean Jarvis

Glenna Jean Obray Jarvis passed away peacefully Thursday, August 16, 2007.

She was born July 1 1933, in her Grandma Allen''s house in Paradise Utah. Her parents were Clyde Tams Obray and Lena Allen Obray. Her father was a school teacher when she was young so during the school season they lived in various towns in Idaho and Utah but summers were always spent in Paradise so that her dad could work on the Obray family farm. She had many pleasant memories of sunny summer days in Paradise and playing with her Allen and Obray cousins.

Later the family moved to Clearfield Utah and she graduated from Davis High School in 1951. She married Harry Alton Jarvis on November 29, 1950. He preceded her in death as well as her parents and sister, LorRayne Obray Reed.

She is survived by two brothers and their spouses, Dean and Grace Obray, of Manhatten CA; Roy Dell and Barbara Ree, of Clearfield. The following children and spouses, Vince and Sue Jarvis, of Parumph Nevada; Linda and Craig Lundberg, of Wellsville; Jeanenne Jarvis and Skip Wines, of Afton Wyoming; Kathy and Stephen Sherman, of West Point; and Kristine and Doug Barneck, of West Point. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.

Mom detested filling out those federal cards we got at school and checking that Housewife Only square as many hours were spent attending Parent Teacher Conferences, driving to dance class, music and voice lessons. She never missed a single band or choir concert, play or dance recital. She loved to read and sew. She liked to garden and was very proud of her prize roses. Family camping trips were always fun. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and loved attending meetings and outings with her friends there. She also enjoyed genealogy and had currently been doing temple work for hundreds of ancestors.

She was a member of the West Point 4th Ward and had been active in the Relief Society, Primary, Young Women''s and Cub Scouts.

Special thanks to Cheryl Andreason, the McKay Dee Hospital nurses and the hospice nurses for their loving tender care of our mom at this time.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20th at 11 a.m. at the West Point 4th Ward Chapel, 2852 West 300 North, West Point.

Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., at the church.

Interment, Paradise City Cemetery.
