Gloria K. Burge

Gloria K. Burge OGDEN – Gloria K. Burge, 59, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at her home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 9, 1948 in Stevenspoint, Wisconsin, the daughter of Floyd Henry and Doris Naomi Cloward Smart. She was raised in Ogden since the age of two and attended Ogden City Schools and the A.T.C. Gloria married Carl R. Burge on July 11, 1968 in Ogden. Carl preceded her in death on October 27, 1999. She was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church. Gloria worked in the medical field for 14 years. She then helped her husband with his business. Gloria will always be remembered by her family and friends as a kind and loving person – one you could always count on. Surviving are her daughter, Kris (Jerry) Valdez, her sister and best friend, Dottie Cloward and her children, Melody (Adam) Sweet, Bryan McMahon, John McMahon, David (Sandye) Quintana and Jared (Tammy) Quintana; and her stepson Todd Burge May and his five sons. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, stepson Troy, and a niece Norma. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 1105 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Church 10:30 to 11 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Gloria’s nurses, Susan, Keri and Brenda; her hospice nurses, Carol and Raelyn; the members at Ascension Lutheran Church, especially Pastor Renee; and a special thank you to Jean (Von) VanOrden and her family for the love and concern they gave to Gloria.
