My wonderful mother, Gloria Warren Cuthbert, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. I am filled with gratitude for the gifts of faith, love, wisdom and good humor that she leaves with us. These traits were nurtured by her good parents, Leo Layton and Eva Morgan Warren who raised her as the middle child on their farm in Syracuse. She learned early the value of hard and uncomplaining work. Mom married Elmer Jay Cuthbert in the Salt Lake Temple on October 29, 1943 and they built their home and raised a family next to her parents on the family farm, spending their entire lives in Syracuse.

Mom was a faithful member of the LDS Church and a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, serving loyally in many capacities in the Rachel Layton Warren Camp, named after her grandmother. She worked with her brother, Cal, in his stockbroker office for many years, the Ogden IRS, and was a teacher at North Layton Junior High.

Mom was the go-to person for many people as they completed their callings in the church and elsewhere. She was great at organizational and managerial positions, knew how to get things done and who could best help her.

Mom is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Mabey (Robert) of Bountiful, her grandson, Sean, and granddaughter, Jolei of Kaneo''he, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jay, and sons, Steven Jay and Bryan Warren with whom she is now happily reunited. She was the last surviving member of her birth family which sorely grieved her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Syracuse First Ward Chapel, on the corner of 2500 West and 700 South, Syracuse. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday night at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the church.

The family wishes to thank the CNAs and staff at Legacy Village Assisted Living in Layton for their kind and tender care and Aspire Hospice for the wonderful attention to her needs at the end of her life.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Road.
