Gloria Roche Faerber Francis
Family and friends are saddened by the death of Gloria Patricia Roche Faerber Francis who returned home on April 24, 2013.
She was born on Aug 1, 1930, in Antioch, CA to Viola Grace Peterson and Merlin Hugh Roche. Following a delightful childhood, she married Fred Robert Faerber on June 25, 1948 in the SLC LDS Temple. Together they raised 6 children.
Following Fred''s death on Nov 20, 1987, Gloria married William Francis on Jan 15, 1989. Gloria and Bill spent 15 years together, highlighted by frequent vacations throughout the world. Bill passed away on Oct. 24, 2004.
A special blessing was given to the Faerber family when Holly was born on Dec 21, 1967. Gloria spent the rest of her life caring for and enhancing the life of our wonderful sister and friend. Gloria was a lifelong advocate for handicapped children''s special needs.
Though Gloria''s main occupation was that of a homemaker, she spent many hours working in retail sales.
She loved genealogy, researching family history, and traveling to the places where her ancestors lived. She carried on the tradition which her father and mother started in genealogical research. Along with a joyous reunion with her parents and extended family members, Gloria will be welcomed home with gratitude by thousands for whom she did genealogical research and family history work.
Her active membership in the LDS church provided Gloria with opportunities to serve neighbors and friends in many capacities. She always had a strong belief in eternal families, meaningful work effort and personal responsibility.
The family appreciates the loving care which Sallie and staff at Chancelor Gardens provided during her final months here on earth.
Six children and their companions will miss Gloria. They include Dave & Rayanna Faerber of Kaysville, Utah; Ron & Debbie Faerber of Castaic, California; Steve & Vera Faerber from Lander, Wyoming; Mark and Cheryl Faerber of Kaysville, Utah; Lori & John Iacoletti of Austin, Texas and our special sister, Holly Faerber, of Clinton, Utah. Gloria has 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Her sister, Marlene Roche Daniels, from Highland, Utah, has lost a good friend.
Please join us in celebrating Gloria''s life on Monday evening, April 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary (400 North Main, Kaysville), and Tuesday morning, April 30, from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. at the Kaysville 4th ward LDS church (875 East, 200 North), where the funeral will begin at 11:00. Interment will be next to her eternal companion, Fred Faerber, at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
