Gloria Laws Kay
Gloria Laws Kay, 59, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born June 4, 1951, in Brigham City, Utah the daughter of Doug and Verna Laws.
She married Robert Kay, June 7, 1974 in Layton, Utah.
Gloria spent most of her life in Layton, Utah. When she was young, she loved spending summers in Malad, Idaho. She graduated from Davis High School in 1969 and later Weber State University with a degree in Sociology, with a social work emphasis.
Gloria devoted her life to others, especially to her children and grandchildren. She treated everyone she met with equal respect and very much enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved ice skating with her brother Denton during her childhood. She also loved spending time with her family and the ocean. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was the most loving, supportive mother to her children.
Gloria is survived by her parents, Doug and Verna Laws of Layton; brother Doug Laws, sister Diane Bangerter, her sons, Matthew, Mark and daughter Marcie. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Natalie and her three grandsons, Austin Cawley and Jaden and Elwynn Kay.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Denton Laws and her husband Robert Kay.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
